Thursday in the Intermittent Rain and the Semi-Jet-Lagged Stupor

Jet lag is such a strange creature. I woke up at 4:00 in the morning and it was dark outside. Before that I had awakened at 10:00 p.m. Thinking that we had slept through the day and into the next night, Beth assured me we had only slept about five hours. At 4:00 I knew I wouldn't be sleeping any longer. At 8:00 we went to find a cafe au lait. We will have our morning cups at a different cafe each day.

We walked around the Marais. Then we walked to the Ile de la Cite and looked at the exterior of Notre Dame. We have decided to go in two places only: Sainte Chapelle and the Musee D'Orsay. Since Sainte Chapelle is near Notre Dame, we went there. It was phenomenally beautiful. Built in the 13th century to house objects of the Passion of Christ. It is currently undergoing renovations. The workmanship on the twelve enormous stained-glass windows is unbelievable.

And of course there is a rose window.
We did a lot of walking. It felt good. We are over the jet-lag hump.
